To meet the growing global demand for low-maintenance, cleaner, quieter equipment, Genie is proud to introduce lithium-ion battery options for GS E-Drive slab scissor lifts.
The Genie lithium ion batteries are specifically designed for MEWPs and have been tested for longevity and reliability — even in extreme environments — and are certified against fire, electric shock, and explosion by the independent certification organization Underwriters Laboratory (UL).

That said, battery maintenance and replacement is still one of the biggest ongoing expenses for scissor lift owners. the lithium ion batteries from Genie reduce those costs by eliminating battery maintenance and replacement. Purposefully designed for use in MEWPs, Genie Lithium-Ion is the only battery you’ll need for the normal life of your scissor lift,”
The zero-maintenance Genie lithium ion batteries battery’s fully sealed IP67 housing protects it from water and dust contamination. Based on an extensive testing program, it has an expected lifespan of around 10 years and comes with a five-year warranty. The batteries are good for temperatures ranging between minus 29 to 49 degrees Celsius.
Introduced in 2020, Genie E-Drive scissor lifts are already low-maintenance machines with brushless, fully sealed AC drive motors and 70% fewer hydraulic hoses and fittings. Genie’s E-Drive lithium ion batteries scissor lifts reduce maintenance costs by an additional 11% compared to flooded lead acid (FLA) batteries because the lithium ion batteries do not need to be watered or replaced.
Genie said that Lithium-Ion batteries save time and money by eliminating maintenance such as battery watering and battery replacement. This also frees up time to service other products.

Genie Lithium-Ion batteries are UL certified against fire, electric shock or explosion. Continuous use in hot/cold weather, from extreme heat (120F/49C) to extreme cold (-20F/-29C) without the need to take a break to warm up the battery.
